i'm baaaccck! work has been stupid and then i had an amazing vacation and then other life stuff. but now i'm back!

food.
-cauliflower pizza crust? this looks delicious.
-homemade mustard on roasted carrots.
-buttermilk french toast.
-grilled cheese with a fried egg, kale pesto and avocado?!!?!? i need this in my mouth. now.also jim's roasted apple nut bread looks incredible.
-creamy avocado veggie pasta. i've been eating avocados like their going out of style lately. can't get enough!
-we're testing an organic/local produce delivery service this week, so another meal planning push came at the perfect time!

health.
a boat load of workout videos! i just removed all my excuses.

misc.

happy valentine's day! 
even though i've never been "into" valentine's day, i may be coming around to it this year with a little help from two of my dearest friends who sent me sweet valentine's day cards! it also helped to walk into work today and receive a pretty pink rose (what did i just say? i don't even like roses! i'm becoming such a girl, and i think i love it). today & every day, i'm so happy for all the crazy big love i'm surrounded by. i am oh so lucky. let's get to the favorites, shall we?

- two new to me food blogs (thanks to ashley!): my new roots (her cleanse looks totally manageable & the holiday cookbook looks amazing) & roost (rosemary & walnut flour crepes sound scrumptious.)

- second, this awesome mock presidential address on the whole "crisis". the comment section is intense.
- thirdly, wtf government?! have you gone mad?! mr. president, please grow a pair and take matters into your own hands whether or not the crazies support you. increase the debt ceiling and pass a bill that incorporates both ending tax cuts to drive revenue and spending cuts to reduce spending. why is this so hard to understand? i'm a political idiot, and i get it.

i'm no good at this. it's a fact, and i own it. i do wish to be better, because i love documenting things here. maybe one day. maybe not one day.

- did you know about u-pick lavender fields? me neither! stacy shows & tells everything you didn't know about it. {her coop also just won 1st prize for coolest coop in the universe. or it was acknowledged as one of the coolest in seattle. can't remember which}
- speaking of seattle, how cool is this giant jenga game!

- i've talked about chalk paint before, so fingers crossed i get chosen from ally's awesome giveaway! no more procastinating on painting the coffee & bedsides tables!

- omg, this diy postcard birthday poster is incredible! and so is almost everything jordan creates!

it's weird how these have become my only posts here. i do have more to share than things i covet, but i'm still trying to figure out what to say here versus there. was going to make a post about work but don't know how smart that would be given the interweb's lack of anonymity. so while i figure out just how i want to use this space for my {4!} dear readers, i give you this week's favorites...


- it was yours after all!?!? oh, come on, weiner! you can't make this shit up people!
- summer cookbook list. though i have a serious cooking crush on heidi and will own her book one of these days, i actually am equally intrigued by the other vegetarian goodie.
- a useful resumé critique. it's time i updated mine!
- some easy growing green. or how about indoor citrus!
- edamame pesto. we recently had grilled edamame that was amazing. since we aren't allowed a grill, wondering if broiling it would have the same delicious effect?
- i've got a couple of big pieces i'd like to paint... maybe milk paint is the way to go?!
- stacy really turned me on to embroidery over the past couple of years, so i'm really excited about needlework by anna maria horner {my sewing hero}.
- need to make these for the csa pick-ups!
